Autumn/Winter 2023-2024

Autumn/Winter 2023-2024

Following the harvest, from October to January, Château Fougas has been immersed in an oceanic climate characterized by regular showers and strong winds. These weather conditions had the effect of replenishing the groundwater.

At the end of January, there were 8 days of frost and one day of snow, which helps protect the vine stocks from wood diseases.

As we reach mid-February, spring is on the horizon. Higher-than-average temperatures have led to the vine's early development, about fifteen days ahead of schedule. Lawns are already dotted with violets, and mimosa flowers are blooming.

In the vineyards, pruning and wood pulling are coming to an end.

In the cellars, the 2023 vintage is being placed in barrels.

While this vintage has proven to be of low yield, it is of very high quality. Journalists will soon begin tasting sessions for the new vintage.
